DIgSILENT Pacific PowerFactory Users' Group Meeting

The first Pacific region PowerFactory users' group meeting held on Wednesday 20 June 2007 in the Park Hyatt hotel in Melbourne was a huge success. The meeting was attended by 30 engineers representing transmission and distribution utilities, consultants and industrial users of PowerFactory from across Australia and New Zealand. The meeting was followed by a two day wind power integration seminar conducted by Dr Markus Poeller.

Lively formal and informal discussions on the issues raised continued till late at night at the official dinner. The new features of PowerFactory version 14.0 was of particular interest and met with enthusiasm. The formal presentations were from wide ranging applications of PowerFactory. The papers presented by Vector, Nokian and NEMMCO were particularly well received by the audience.

Subsequent formal feedback from delegates was very positive and indicated a strong desire to have PowerFactory users' group meeting every second year in Melbourne. The majority of those attending indicated that they would continue to support future meetings and in fact gave the event the tick of approval.
