DSM Systems handed over to SEC/Saudi Arabia

A total of 16 PFM/DSM systems with approximately 1000 analogue channels have been commissioned in June 2007 and handed over to SEC / Saudi Arabia.

The PFM/DSM systems are installed at various substations and power plants in the Eastern and Central Operation Areas (EOA and COA) of Saudi Electric Company.

Master Stations are operated in Dammam and Riyadh HQs respectively. With the DIgSILENT DSM (Dynamic System Monitor) SEC is supervising grid operation and system performance providing input to operation planning and system analysis.

PFM/DSM range of observation is ranging from 0.0001s to minutes incl. continous monitoring streams over years.

The DSM is a PowerFactoryMonitor which fully integrates with the DIgSILENT PowerFactory simulations software featuring signal analysis with flexible DPL scripts, system modelling and parameter identification on relevant equipment such as plant control and substation loads.
The project was implemented in cooperation with Al Haider Co., the local partner of DIgSILENT in Saudi Arabia.
