DIgSILENT Pacific in association with The University of Sydney has successfully hosted the 2013 PowerFactory Users' Conference and Future Networks Technical Seminar. 50 delegates from Australia and New Zealand attended the event on 5th and 6th September in Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel.
The keynote presentation on day one was given by Flavio Fernandez, Managing Director of DIgSILENT GmbH, with an insightful presentation on the new features of PowerFactory V15.1. Following this, presenters from various sectors of the electrical industry shared their experiences on various projects where PowerFactory was the core tool utilised.
A Student 'poster-paper' competition was also held with an objective of describing interesting research utilising PowerFactory. The first and second prize was won by students from The University of Wollongong.
The second day of the event, The Future Networks Technical Seminar, hosted industry experts and academics who shared their insights on the future of the electricity network. There was a particular focus on the impact of renewables in Australia and universities' research into the impacts of high renewable penetration.
