PowerFactory-Workshops held in Kerman and Tabriz, Iran

DIgSILENT's local partner in Iran, MATN International, Tehran, has organized two 5-days trainings held in Kerman and Tabriz. The first course from February 7-11, 2004 was focussing on distribution planning for Zanjan Regional Electric in the North-West of Iran. The second training from February 14-18, 2004 concentrated on transmission planning and took place in Kerman in the Southern center of Iran. Both trainings were held by Dr. Jürgen Backes from DIgSILENT GmbH / Germany.

Dr. Backes round-trip to Iran was completed by two one-day workshops with some 80 participants from local utilities, the industrial sector and consulting companies. The work shops were held in Tehran at MATN Institute and in Tabriz (Province of Aserbaidjan) within the facilities of MONA Consulting Engineers.

The dominant impression of his trip is the high engineering level in network planning in Iran, based on a sound university education and a high standard in practical application – along with the proverbial hospitality and politeness of the Persian people.
