PACWorld 2019, Glasgow, UK
The 10th Protection, Automation and Control (PAC) World Conference and Exhibition took place from 17th to 20th of June in Glasgow.
Professionals from utilities and universities, manufacturers and consultants came together in Glasgow to discuss topics concerning the IEC61850, the international standard defining communication protocols for intelligent electronic devices at electrical substations as well as topics concerning automation and protection in power systems.
DIgSILENT contributed to the scientific discussion at the conference and presented its products and services at the exhibition.
Désirée Bangert and Daniel Gmeiner presented two papers at the conference:
In her presentation “Software Solution for the protection calculation and documentation of the protection technology at SWM”, Désirée presented a use case of the Stadtwerke München, who apply a combination of PowerFactory and StationWare to calculate and document protection relevant data and settings.
Daniel Gmeiner showed in his presentation ““Application of a Simulation-based Protection Operation Audit for Identifying Prospective Weak Points in a Protection Scheme” how PowerFactory’s Protection Audit tool can be applied to quickly identify weak points in a protection scheme.
