RE Grid Integration Week 2022
The RE Grid Integration Week 2022 opened its doors to Grid Integration experts from around the world in The Hague, from October 10th to October 14th, to discuss grid integration of wind, solar and e-mobility applications. This year DIgSILENT acted as Giga-Sponsor of the 6th E-Mobility Power System Integration Symposium and of the 21st Wind & Solar Integration Workshop.
It was good to be back in person and DIgSILENT were pleased to meet existing and potential users as well as to see PowerFactory being used in many of the papers presented. Our colleagues Aleksandar Karisik and Jaleel Mesbah from DIgSILENT Pacific contributed two studies at the 21st Wind & Solar Integration Workshop.
Aleksandar Karisik´s study, named “Utilisation of Synchronous Condensers for Improved Damping in Power Systems with High Renewable Penetration”, examined the implementation of a synchronous condenser in conjunction with a POD, in a network with high renewable generation, to dampen inter-area modes.
Jaleel Mesbah´s paper gave insights into the “Performance Optimisation of a Grid Forming Battery Energy Storage System”, discussing the major trade-offs involved in the performance optimisation, followed by the presentation of an open loop method to efficiently tune plant performance with wide area simulation data.
We´d like to thank all participants for the stimulating discussions and your interest in our products.
We also want to thank the organising committee of the Grid Integration Week for hosting this conference. It is a pleasure to be part of the thriving RE Grid Integration community.
