Do you have an example how to model Line Drop Compensation?

Answer

The LDC is normally used in MV/LV radial networks to control the voltage at a remote end (by measuring the load current and compensating the voltage drop). A detailed explanation of the Line Drop Compensation (LDC) is available in the Technical Reference of the 2 winding transformer element (ElmTr2).

The Line Drop Compensation can be defined on the Load Flow page of the 2-Winding Transformer (ElmTr2) when the option Automatic Tap Changing is enable.

If the option 'internal' is selected, you have to enter the Current Transformer Rating, the Voltage Transformer Rating, Rset and Xset .

If the option 'external' is selected, you have to create a new Line Drop Compensation (StaLdc) type inside the cubicle and set the Current Transformer Rating, the Voltage Transformer Rating, Rset and Xset. Additionally a minimum and maximum voltage drop can be entered.

In the attached project both internal and external method are modelled.
