How do you model an lightning impulse according to the CIGRE waveform?

The Cigre waveform is currently not available in the ElmImpulse. However, you can use the current source ElmIac and control it via a DSL model.

In the attached project, the DSL model calculates the current impulse based on the following input parameters:

  • Current Peak
  • Front Time
  • Tail Time
  • Steepness

Import the project and execute the EMT simulation. The parameters of the impulse can be adjusted via the DSL / Common model.
