There are various possibilities to "bond" the sheath / metallic screen (MSC). The bonding corresponds to the earthing of the sheath / MSC.
There are different bonding configurations for cables:
- Isolated MSC: MSC is isolated on both sides
- Single point bonding: MSC is grounded on one side only
- Double bonding: MSC is grounded on both sides
- Cross-bonding: MSC is grounded on both sides and transposed along the cable
