What are the options of the harmonic model of a PWM Converter?

Answer

The PWM converter model can either represent a harmonic current source or a harmonic voltage source.

  • If you select the option "Constant I", the specified harmonic spectrum is injected as harmonic currents.
  • If you select the option "Constant V", the specified harmonic spectrum is injected as harmonic voltages.

If the harmonic currents option is selected, you can specify additional impedances in parallel to the internal current source and even link frequency characteristics to these impedances. By this way a frequency-dependent Norton equivalent is formed for a detailed representation of the converter in the frequency domain.

Refer to the Technical Reference of PWM Converter for more information about how to model the harmonic injection.
