State Estimation
State estimation is a method for determining the most likely state of a network based on measured data and network topology. The State Estimation in PowerFactory is available for both balanced and unbalanced networks and includes a plausibility check to eliminate bad data as well as observability analysis to verify if the measurements in the system provide enough (non-redundant) information to estimate the state of that part of the network. Options for the treatment of unobservable areas allow estimation of the network state to be improved.
- Assessment of balanced and unbalanced networks
- P, Q, I and V-measurement models
- Measurement plausibility checks
- Automatic bad data detection/elimination
- Verification of system observability
- Various options to handle unobservable regions (e.g. pseudo measurements)
- Consideration of load flow constraints
