In radially or partially meshed operated networks, faults lead to unsupplied areas after fault clearance. A classical contingency analysis is therefore not applicable. To restore the supply to network areas affected by the fault, several switching actions may be required.
The new Contingency Restoration Analysis in PowerFactory 2025 integrates both contingency analysis and the automatic determination of optimal restoration schemes.
